License Agreement
Last updated: 2026-10-03 · Applies to Telari 0.1.0 and later
This End User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is a legal agreement between you and the developer of Telari (“we”, “us”) for the Telari application and its accompanying materials (“Software”). By installing or using the Software you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
1. License grant
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on Macs you own or control, subject to this Agreement.
2. Free tier and Pro license
The Software has a free tier and a Pro license. Reading is free forever in the free tier; Pro features such as advanced export require a valid Pro license. The purchase, delivery, device count, upgrade and refund of Pro licenses are governed by the Terms of Sale; use of the Software, free or Pro, is governed by this Agreement.
3. Trial
You may start one free trial of the Pro features in the app. Its length, start and how often it is available are set out in §3 of the Terms of Sale. When the trial ends the Software returns to the free tier.
4. Your content
The Software runs entirely on your Mac and processes the documents you open locally. We claim no ownership of your files or their content. You are responsible for your content and for keeping backups; the Software is a reader and does not modify your source files in normal use.
5. Restrictions
You may not: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except to the extent applicable law expressly permits; (b) sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or redistribute the Software; (c) remove or alter any proprietary notices; or (d) use the Software in violation of applicable law.
6. Third-party components
The Software includes third-party components distributed under their own licenses (for example, the Latin Modern Math font under the GUST Font License, and the Sparkle update framework under the MIT License). Those licenses are shown in the in-app Acknowledgements window and govern those components. To the extent a third-party license conflicts with this Agreement for that component, the third-party license controls.
7. Updates
The Software may check for and install updates (see the Privacy Policy). Updated versions are governed by this Agreement unless accompanied by a separate license.
8. Disclaimer of warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. YOU USE THE SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE. NOTHING IN THIS AGREEMENT LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
10. Termination
This Agreement applies until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach it. On termination you must stop using the Software and delete your copies.
11. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (for this purpose excluding the laws of the Hong Kong SAR, the Macao SAR and Taiwan), without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer with more favourable mandatory rights under the law of your place of residence, those rights are unaffected.
